Thick and Full Root Boost Spray by OGX | Summer Series

I really don't do much with my hair, other than shampoo and conditioner then roughly blow dry it after. And occasionally I'll use dry shampoo, if I can't be bothered to wash it.

Ok, ok, I use dry shampoo a lot.

I normally buy my OGX shampoo when it's 3 for 2 in Boots, so as the third product I decided to give this root boosting spray a whirl.

My hair is quite fine, but there is quite a bit of it, and I do notice it can be quite flat a day or two after washing.

And this promises the appearance of thicker, fuller, more textured hair.

I liked that you can use this product before blowdrying as well as during the day on dry hair.

It was pretty simple to use, just spritz on before blowdrying upside down.

Unlike the other OXG products, the fragrance was nothing to write home about, and neither were the results:

I have used similar root-volumising products in the past which I felt gave better and more noticeable results.

So I am a little disappointed with this product, but it wouldn't stop me from trying other OGX products in the various ranges.

Sugar Crush Body Lotion | Summer Series

I'm a huge fan of Soap and Glory products, especially the Sugar Crush body scrub.
So when I heard they had brought out a body lotion in the same fragrance I had to try it!

What makes this product even more perfect is it has AHA in the formula, which made me love it even more!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Sugar Crush scent, it is sweet and citrusy from Lime seed oil and Kiwi water juice.

It also contains Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Cacao Seed Butter which are all renowned for softening the skin.

The AHAs, Lactic and Glycolic acid, help the skins natural exfoliation process, leaving the skin smooth to touch.

And as an added bonus is also contains Salicylic acid, a BHA, to help clear pores (because your whole body is covered in pores... not just your face). I felt this product is great at reducing the red marks an bumps on my chest and shoulders.

The texture smoothes into the skin easily, as I am not fond of tacky residue when I want to get dressed.

It really makes applying a daily lotion a dream, and helping me well on my way to a better body skin-care routine! Which I'm slowly but surely improving on!

No More Biscuit Smell? | Vita Liberata Untinted Self Tan Lotion | Summer Series

Summer is now well and truly upon us and sales of sunscreen and ice cream are soaring (well definately sunscreen, the weather hasn't been great), and due to the Great British weather being as fickle as English folk, when the sun does decide to come out, and we want to bare our skin we may not look like the bronzed goddess we were hoping too.

Enter: Self Tans.

Up until recently, I hadn't delved into the world of self tans, and I still am a pale girl at heart. But it's not going to harm to have a little dabble.

As with most products I try, I do a bit of research see what other people think from reviews and blog posts. What's a hit and what's a miss.

In the end I went for this Vita Liberata Gradual Build Lotion.

It appealed to me because it was a buildable tan so I wouldn't have legs five tones darker than the rest of my body over night.

It's also untinted/ colourless, so the product wont transfer onto clothes, sheets, underwear etc.

And supposedly it's completely odourless.

It also states that it's:
Quick and easy to apply
Dries on contact
'Moisture-lock" system for 72 hour hydration
Marine and organic botanicals extracts create natural looking tan
and a perfect and totally natural fade

So how did it match up?

I agree, it was easy to apply, just like any other moisturiser, but I applied sparingly to elbows, knees ankles etc - basic self tanning 101.

It also is very quickly absorbed. This is a pro and con. Good because I don't like feeling sticky and like to get dressed promptly after applying any body product, but not so good as I worried it was not spread evenly prompting me to use possibly more product than necessary to avoid getting streaks.

The tan I achieved was a lovely colour, not to orange or yellowy, and it left my skin feeling soft and smoothed. Unfortunately it definately wasn't odourless, but probably significantly less than self tans I have used in the past. The smell weirdly reminded me of Chinese food, I don't know what that says about my sense of smell... or my local take out.

For a brand I hadn't heard of before, I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I would repurchase, although I'm a sucker for new products and as this will probably get me through the rest of this summer, I imagine something else will catch my eye next year.

The top three blogs who gain the most followers will be featured in the Bloglovin' feed and blog.

They're doing it to help promote and find new up-and-coming blogs.
Now, I know I have a very modest amount of followers, but I thought this would be a great opportunity to get some new readers as well as share the blog love.

So in response to this follower challenge, I thought I would help entice new followers, by not only posting every Monday in August, but every WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY too. That's a whole 200% more! I'm calling it Summer Series.

Chanel Chance | Eau Vive

Chanel have launched a new addition to their Chance range; Eau Vive.

It's a light citrusy fragrance with top notes of blood orange and grapefruit.

With jasmine, iris and cedar base notes.

Despite being a Eau De Toilette the scent lasts really well on the skin.

It's definately become a favourite summer fragrance for me, and it's fun, lively and feel good to wear.

Thumbs up Chanel.

Fabulously Flawless in 15 Minutes

Clarins have put together a clever edit of their hero products to create a fresh but made up look achievable in only 15 minutes.

They have also created a five and ten minute look and the products for 15 are additions to these looks. Perfect to go from work to a night out, which is ideal for me, as I work weekends and get a last minute invite out.

The products in the 15 minute look are

Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch
True Radiance foundation
Instant Light Brush on Perfector
3-Dot Liner
Rouge Eclat Lipstick
Perfect Eyes and Brows Palette

The beauty about these looks is that you can mix and match your products, like opting for a different foundation or lipstick colour.

I chose not to get the primer, used the Instant Liner instead of 3-Dot and a Joli Rouge lipstick

The products I added to the look were

Multi Blush
Ombre Matte Eyeshadow
Be Long Mascara
Instant Concealer

Another unique thing about these looks is that you don't need any brushes other than ones that are supplied, like in the eye and brow palette.

It was a nice change to apply foundation, concealer and eye shadow with my fingers as I am a keen brush user.

The eyeshadow was easy to blend with my fingers, although it initially felt a little awkward.

The shades/ colours I used

True Radiance Foundation - 103 Ivory
Instant Light Brush on Perfector - 00 Light
Instant Liner - Black
Ombre Matte Eyeshadow - 08 Heather*
Joli Rouge Lipstick - 752 Rosewood**
Multi-blush - 02 Candy
Instant Concealer - 01 Light
Be Long Mascara (Sample) - Black
Perfect Eyes and Brows Palette - One Shade

Overall I really enjoyed trying to do my make up in 15, using my finger as applicators definately showed me it's achievable to do a full face of makeup without faffing over brushes and blending.

I took away from the experience that it's not about rushing to do your makeup in an allotted time, but by choosing the right products.

NIP + FAB Exfoliate | Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme

Nip + Fab have upped their AHA (and BHA) game by introducing their new extreme exfoliation pads.

My initial thought was could these rival the results of Alpha H's Liquid Gold?

To be used 2-3 times a week (I use every other day). They're even suitable for sensitive skins, but only once a week.

Specifically designed for oily and congested skin they contain 5% glycolic acid aiding skins natural exfoliation and smoothing skins texture. Salicylic acid to unclog pores and lactic acid weakening the bonds holding dead skin cells to the surface of your skin.

The pads are generously soaked, with one textured side. Make sure you keep the lid on tight to avoid them drying out.

They don't give the Liquid Gold tingle, but I do apply a light hydrating serum after using these, which I don't after LQ, but being more than half the price the payoff should should be the same.
